accountability
One thing I need is more self discipline. But at this stage in my life, I have no accountability.
This is an effort to change that.
Today I got a citation because my manager saw me with my phone out. In my defense, I wasn't actively looking at it, I just had it in my hand. I'm not mad about it. I am annoyed that she decided to enforce a policy she saw me breaking on a day she "forgot" her uniform (and instead of going home to retrieve her name tag and apron, decided to work anyway). That's been one of my biggest gripes about this job: only the employees have to follow policy, managers are exempt. Is this what I can expect from the working world? I don't enjoy a "do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do" environment. If these policies are so important to the company and our image, then I feel managers should be the first to follow and lead by example.
